In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Marshall Wellness Collective emerged as a community-led mutual-aid initiative offering free and donation-based holistic care to people in Marshall and the surrounding area. Operating from the Walnut Community Center, the collective brought together herbalists, bodyworkers, mental-health practitioners, wellness providers, volunteers, and neighbors to offer care during an incredibly difficult time for the community. The Marshall Wellness Collective was part of the immediate Hurricane Helene response and is no longer an active hub or location. We are preserving this page to honor the practitioners and community members who showed up, shared their skills, and demonstrated what collaborative community care can look like during a disaster.

Herbal mutual aid continues in Madison County through MadCo Herbal Collective. MadCo Herbal Collective offers free herbal care, community medicine making, volunteer opportunities, and other forms of herbal mutual aid, with current activities taking place at Ginny Lou’s in downtown Marshall, North Carolina.

The work has changed locations and evolved, but the spirit remains the same: herbalists sharing their knowledge, medicine, and time in service to their community.
